Why does the Ro System need pre-treatment?

Ro System are widely used in the water treatment industry. Ro Equipment often require pre-treatment because the impurities contained in the raw water will contaminate the Membrane Element and affect the stable operation of the system and the service life of the membrane elements.

The reasons for adding pretreatment to the reverse osmosis system are as follows:

1. Prevent contamination on the membrane surface, that is, prevent suspended impurities, microorganisms, colloidal substances, etc. from adhering to the surface or fouling the flow channels of the membrane elements.
2. Prevent scaling on the membrane surface. During the operation of the reverse osmosis device, due to the concentration of water, some insoluble salts such as CaCO3, CaSO4, BaSO4, SrSO4, CaF2, etc. are deposited on the membrane surface, so the generation of these insoluble salts must be prevented.
3. Ensure that the membrane is protected from mechanical and chemical damage so that the membrane has good performance and a long enough service life.
