The storage and transportation packaging of the membrane elements outside the pressure vessel is the packaging of the membrane manufacturer when it leaves the factory (vacuum sealed in an oxygen barrier bag and stored in a carton), and then taken out of the packaging before the RO System is started, directly Installed into a pressure vessel. Proper storage conditions will help reduce microbial growth during storage.

The storage requirements for new membrane elements are as follows:
1. Membrane Element need to be in a cool, dry room and avoid direct sunlight.
2. Please keep the room temperature at 5‐35°C to avoid freezing.
3. The packaging of the new membrane element is protected by vacuuming in an oxygen barrier bag made of special plastic, and then packed into a carton. Please open the carton before use.
4. Do not stack more than 7 layers of membrane elements, and keep the outer packaging of the carton dry.
5. When opening the plastic package, keep one end of the plastic bag intact for reuse.
6. When opening the carton package, keep the carton material intact so that the membrane element can be transported and stored again.
Storage/protection of used membrane elements
1. If the membrane element is removed from the pressure vessel for transportation and storage, the membrane element must be protected with 500-1000ppm SBS solution.
2. Use food-grade chemicals to prepare SBS protection solution.
3. Use demineralized water or water without residual chlorine. It is best to use reverse osmosis or nanofiltration water for protection solution configuration.
After soaking the membrane element in the preservation solution for about 1 hour, take the membrane element out of the solution and pack it in an oxygen isolation bag, seal the bag and label it, indicating the date of packing.
4. After the membrane elements are packaged and protected, their storage conditions are the same as those of new membrane elements.
